02-10-21 Sparkly Social Butterflies - Yayla Bistro in Arlington, VA

We decided to get together to get new member (old friend), Helena Zuniga out. Her mother recently passed away and she'd been having a hard time dealing with it. This is a Turkish Cuisine restaurant and the food was absoluely fantastic, as was the service.  Theme: A Touch of Blue/Mermaids or Valentine's. We had a great time and definitely plan to return. Carmen is going to have her birthday party here in May.

10-10-20 Sparkly Social Butterflies Second Pandemic Outing - Smokey Bones

The Butterflies gathered for their first outing since the pandemic started. Everyone looked fabulous. We did a Bee Theme!  While it was fabulous to see everyone, for the first time ever we had horrible service. It took forever to get our food and then not a single order was correct. I ordered some take home and then left without it and realized it after I dropped Sherry off and called them and they had thrown it out already (had been less than an hour since I left - over $50 worth of food), then the manager I spoke with wanted me to pay for replacement food...I went ahead and headed back, ready to go off. I got there and spoke with another manager that knew us from past visits. He said he sondered why we were there so long after he got to work as usually we are just leaving, plus we had 2 ladies that kept telling the other manager that all was good and the manager ignored Carmen and I responding that NO! It was NOT GOOD! Carmen would usually stay to file complaint, but one of the ladies that left before us baked into her car and after that she just needed to leave and take her granddtrs. home as they weren't under their best behavior either, so she'd had enough and I didn't think to stay and do it in her place. However, I let him know everything that happened with service (he knew about car incident as he was the one that came and got us). Needless to say, I left with my replacement food order at no additional cost. We do NOT plan to return then again, but we might give them another chance after pandemic over, as they are the only BBQ place I really like around here,

Despite all that, we did have a good time together. Bonnye went with me once I found out that Carmen was bringing her granddtrs. Luckily, she bahaved very well and even tried to calm down the other two.
