He's no Longer a TEENAGER!

Well, today Jacob turned 20. He may no longer be a teenager, but like it or not, he is still my baby and always will be - LOL! He was very sweet and joined me with my red hat group today for lunch (as seen in previous post) (I had set it up before I knew he was coming home before the 28th as originally advised).

This evening we took him and his girlfriend, Tammy, to his choice of restaurant. He chose to go to Sakura's Japanese Steakhouse. We had them sing "Happy Birthday" to him and he got a free cheesecake - one of his favorite desserts. We enjoyed a wonderful meal and then came home and opened his presents. He loves anything "Redskins", so of course he got some of those items (that had been on his wish list) and the Bones 4th Season DVD (he already has 1-3).

Jacob opens one present and is very happy to receive some Redskin memorabilia and the Bones 4th Season DVDs.

And he opens his second gift from us. He could tell what this was, but that was okay.

He is trying to get things to put in his "Redskin Room" when he gets his own place. Tammy advised him that will only happen if she gets her own "Patriots Room" - LOL!

Sweet Magnolia's St. Patty's Day Luncheon

Betty and I hosted this month's luncheon and celebrated St. Patty's Day a day early. We had a special guest as well this month - my son Jacob. He is home from Iraq on R&R and today is his 20th birthday. He joined me so we could spend the day together and so he could thank the ladies for the cards they have sent him in Iraq and a package they just mailed to him for his unit (it will be waiting when he returns). He let them know that he planned to send it to part of his unit that was out in the field and did not get as many treats and did not have access to a small exchange like he does. They were very happy to hear that. At the request of our QM he is going to give me the name of some members in his unit that get very little to no mail for them to send things to specifically. He gave her a name then, but I will have to send that to her with the address again. The ladies spoiled him for his birthday, several chipped in to pay for his lunch and one gave him a monetary gift and the QM had brought a birthday cake for him, which he shared at the end of the luncheon, of course. And naturally, we sang "Happy Birthday!" to him.

Anyway, we had a great time. We played a left/right game, pulled names for the centerpiece door prizes (Betty had also brought a couple of tulips to put on the table for door prizes).

We're Great-Auntie and Uncle Again!

Ken called and advised that Roxie had our new little great-nephew today as planned. She had to have a C-section, as he decided he wanted to stay in the feet first position...he was going to hit the groud running, just like George did. LOL!

Anyway, we wish to welcome Caleb David into the world. Per Ken, he weighed in at 7 lbs. 2.6 ozs., blondish hair and eyebrows and Roxie's nose. Here are a few pics of our new little angel.

Wow, how is that for taking the pix early - LOL!

Jake meets his new little brother.

Aren't they adorable! I think Jake is going to make a very good Big Brother.

Busy Bee Luncheon

This month Bobbie and I were the hostesses for our luncheon and we chose to go to The Blarney Stone Pub and celebrate St. Patty's Day early. We made up little treat bags for everyone and I made a Peppermint Patty Pail for one of our door prizes.

We played a few games, read an Irish Blessing and just had an overall good time. Everyone even got extra treats as Beulah brought the goodie bags she had for our Feb. luncheon that was cancelled due to snow. Katrina won the centerpiece in front of her and Sandra won the Peppermint Pail.
