Christmas 2013

Couldn't really get into to spirit until the last minute. Harold and I didn't even start our shopping until 3 days before. 2 days before we took Bonnye to see Santa. She was soooo adorable.

Again, we kept it simple and just did family time, but we also made a major change for our Christmas dinner. Jacob decided he wanted Gumbo and he made it the day before Christmas for Christmas. I taught him well - it was delicious - LOL! We didn't get the tree decorated completely until Christmas Eve. Several days before we got the tree up and the first ornament on was one Jacob had just gotten for Bonnye. Appropriately, it was Boo (Remember her Halloween costume).

We also got out my musical characters.
Bonnye loved them and at one point she had them all around her and all playing.

Bonnye was so cute Christmas morning. I got her up, changed her diaper and then we waited in my bedroom for Jacob and Karli to wake up...didn't take long as we made sure we made enough noise to let them know we were up and ready :-).  We had fun watching her get excited when she saw her gifts.

During the night some of my monkeys decided to climb in the tree and wait for Santa.
They fell asleep and missed him.

Patiently waiting for her mommy and daddy to wake up.

Oh boy, big legos-type blocks to step on. LOL!

Bonnye with Olaf from the movie "Frozen". She also got Sully and a purple monster from Monsters U.

Now to open the BIG present. She started off slow, but once she got a glimpse of what was inside it went faster.

Sorry, I think she hates it - NOT!

She even got 2 of her own sock monkeys in her stocking.

 Yeah, piecie parts!

And of course, the obligatory nerf dart gun.

Harold's stocking stuffers (note: he got a nerf gun too)
I got a little dragon in mine.

My Jim Shore dragonfly - isn't it beautiful!

I had spotted this when out shopping and showed it to Harold. I was surprised to get it.

I guess she does like it after all.

Thanksgiving's Day 2013

With all that has been going on, I decided to keep it simple this year. Well, simple in that I didn't invite anyone over. Decided to just keep it family. We enjoyed a delicious and relaxed meal.

L'il Bit wanted to join us. She took over my chair while I was taking pictures.

 Everyone's ready to eat

Let's just say - I ate good!

Roxie's Baby Shower

I got to go to Roxie's baby shower. I was late and missed her unwrapping her gifts, but I made it. Snacks served by the hostess, Sandy were very good and the cake was adorable.

The Shenandoahs

We decided to take a drive to see the late, late fall colors. Still some, even though a little subdued, it was beautiful. We always take the south route from Thornton Gap to Big Meadows. One of these days we need to head north. We also saw lots of deer. Just the right nip in the air to make it feel like fall.

Halloween 2013

Well, Halloween always starts before the 31st. Jacob and I took Bonnye to Westmoreland Berry Farm to their pumpkin patch to pick her first pumpkin. She was so cute. She inspected them very closely before settling on one.

Cord and Yank came along as well and picked my pumpkin for me

Just outside the entrance to the berry farm was a small home with these decorations on the little strip of land to the left of it...loved it!

For Halloween, Bonnye dressed up as "Boo" from "Monsters Inc." She was sooooo cute!

Our pumpkins, we never got around to carving them. Oh well, next year maybe.
