Mother's Day 2020

While still staying home, we had a very nice, quiet day. Hubby gave me my flowers on Sat. Today I slept in late (which I do often anyways - LOL!) Hubby grilled us up some pork chops and some foil-wrapped summer squash & zuchinni with onions and butter I prepped for him and we had that with mashed potatoes green beans & black-eyed peas. George called to wish me a Happy Mother's Day and we had a very nice talk. My Peace Lily is also blooming. I received it from Harold's sister, Becky in 2012 when my dad passed away. It hadn't bloomed for many years after I got it and has the past 2 years, not a lot, but at least 2-3 blooms on it once or twice a year now.

Meal was delicious, but my eyes were bigger than my tummy and I was unable to eat it all.
A little of everything was leftover.

MOTHER'S DAY

Late, late, late posting this, but I have been busy and not on the computer much of late. Now that I can read most of my e-mails on my cellphone, I tend to get on my computer loss often. Anyway. I had a very nice Mother's Day weekend. Jacob surprised me Fri. night and was here when I returned from taking the cats to the vet for their shots. He had parked his car on the street behind our house, so I wouldn't see it - Little Sneak! Plus I had called to see if Harold wanted me to pick-up some dinner at Arby's, which I did and I had asked if he had called yet to say if he was coming home or not and was told "No!" Come to find out he was already here (but that cost him to get no food - LOL!).

Saturday I went to a tea (not red hat related for once) at the Rising Sun Tavern. A friend of mine that worked there had put it together and asked me to come. I did dress up with a hat, but for once it wasn't a red hat. I wore one of mom's old hats that I had kept after she passed away. I felt so very close to her that day.

That is me in the black dress and white hat in front.

My friend Jo is in the center in her colonial wear.

Later on Sat., Jacob, Karli and Harold took me out for an early Mother's Day dinner at Carraba's Italian. It was delicious. They gave me my presents then.

My Mother's Day presents. The large dragonfly glass and flowers are from Harold, the smaller one was from Karli. The Password Organizer and Pink Ribbon Note pad are from Jacob.

On Mother's Day we grilled some chicken and sausage before Jacob had to head back to NC.

Mother's Day 2010

Well, I got to start celebrating early. First I received a cute, soft and squishy Eeyore in the mail from Jacob earlier in the week and Fri. evening I received a Spring flower arrangement (my fav) and 2 ballons from him and then Sat. Harold also gave me a beautiful Rose arrangement.
Today, Harold and I went to the new Cinema complex at the mall to see "Ironman 2". We paid the extra to sit up in the balcony in the premium seats (Harold liked them as they rocked). Won't do that often as the price was a bit much, but we decided to treat ourselves. When you pay for the upstairs tickets - it is for 21 and above - you have access to the bar and a restaurant and can take your food into the theatre if desired. Your ticket also includes a small bag of popcorn. Can't see a movie without popcorn in my opinion - LOL! The movie was very good. Afterwards we went to Bob Evan's for dinner. I tried their new Caramel Mocha coffee drink - Yum! - I was glad I could also get free refills on it - but those calories are gonna kill me. Next time I will save it for dessert and only have one. Tomorrow we will go out for my Mother's Day dinner, haven't decided where I want to go yet. Thinkin' about Red Lobster.
