02-18-21 Sleet & rain and a silly squirrel

No Snow, just a steady stream of sleet and snow all night and on and off all day. Yucky, wet, cold. I am freezing even in the house with heat on. My heart goes out to family and friends in Texas that are dealing with the extreme cold, snow, ice and power outages. my brother, Gary was without power for going on 4 days and just got it back this morning. Not sure how rest of family is fairing.From what I gather on FB they are doing okay, just staying hunkered down.

02-16-21 Sad Day

Sad day today. My friend, Myra Kieffer lost her husband, Jim this morning. He has been in the hospital since mid Jan. with breathing issues and heart issues (not COVID related). He has been having issues and in and out of the hospital for months now. He'd been placed in palliative care on Feb. 1st and then into hospice on the 12th. Valentine's Day was their 3rd anniversary, only making the situation even harder.

Then just after I heard about Jim passing, I found out that my dear, dear friend Carmen lost her nephew/godson, Pedro (51 y.o.) unexpectedly. Found out later that he wasn't feeling well this morning and asked his dad to take him to the hospital. His dad dropped him off, but didn't stay as it was too hard as they'd just recently lost Pedro's mother. 2 hours later his dad received a call telling him that Pedro had a massive heart attack and passed away. He left behind a 25 y.o. son, Joey. Joey's mother abandoned them when he was 1 and Pedro had devoted himself to caring for his son. Joey is not handling his passing well and is now staying with his grandfather (also named Pedro).

Then I had another red hatter that decided to verbally assault me in emails that I was uncaring and only cared about myself as I never reached out to her for her losses. Kinda hard to do so when I knew nothing about them. Only knew about 1, a friend that was shot by her husband, but when she told me about that she kept reiterating that she was NOT close to the woman, only knew her thru their Victorian Ladies group and had only gone out with her a couple of times. So I didn't feel a need to reach out further since I had already given her my condolences. She also turned that situation into being about her saying that it could have been her - What if her husband had shot her instead of leaving and filing for divorce.  And yet, I am accused of only caring for myself and "my immediate friends". and seeking attention and sympathy for myself. All of this after I sent an email informing my Busy Bees of Myra's loss and requesting prayers for her. Then she claimed she never asked to be part of my Buzzin' Busy Bee Chapter....BULLS**T, she hasn't come to a luncheon, but she DID request to be on my list to get the newsletter so that she would know when my luncheons were so that she could come sometime if she were available. (COVID hit right after I added her), but if on my list you will get the newsletter and notification of prayer requests. Needless to say, she is OFF my list as requested and she has been removed from our Sparkly Social Butterflies group, since I am one of the founders of it, she doesn't need to be in it either and is now not welcome by myself or the other founders. She had also inquired about my stamp camps and learning to stamp, so I had added her to that email list, she is off that too now, Also, because I was tired of hearing about how she couldn't afford to buy anything, even though I repeatedly told her she did not need too, just come to classes when they resume after pandemic and learn as requested and just make cards in the class. I don't require you become a "customer" to attend. I am so done with her, but I still hate that she has put me in that position.

02-14-21 Happy Valentine's Day

Just a light dusting that melted that afternoon. Finally got a picture of Bonnye's snow-woman. She's melted a bit. Dinner at Cheddar's with hubby and Bonnye for Valentine's. First time there. Pictures of the cards I made for the family here. I mailed out quite a few Valentine's Day cards to family & a few friends.

02-12-21 More Snow

More Snow. Sadly, it doesn't last long. We got a bit more this time and BOnnye was happy that she finally got to make a Snow-Woman this time. Unfortunately, since I am staying inside I haven't gotten a picture of it yet. Taking all my pictures from the warm indoors.
