My New Wheels!

Excitement, excitement! Finally got to replace my '97 Explorer (keeping it awhile longer for pulling the cargo trailer, til we sell it). This time car choice was ALL mine. Harold left it all up to me. We both went out over the weekend, Jacob went with me on Monday and I went alone Tues. - Thurs. Drove a lot of different large sedans. I didn't want anything boxie. I narrowed it down to the Volvo S80, Nissan Maxima and Buick LaCrosse. Thurs. I had Harold go with me to re-test drive each of those. Had him drive as I wanted to check out comfort of back seat. Part of my wants was easy in and out of front and back seat (without having to draw knees up to chest to get out), lots of leg room, had to have navigation and after driving a few with sun roofs (panoramic), I wanted that too (for Bonnye - grandma mode on for that). The Maxima back seat was uncomfortable and seat belt cut int my neck, the S80 was more comfortable, but still not a lot of leg room. We drove the LaCrosse last and once I sat in back seat, the decision was made, I wanted it, the back seat had tons of legroom, seats comfortable and easy to get in and out of. As soon as we got back to dealership and salesman (Tim Grant) had walked away, I told Harold I had made my decision and it was the LaCrosse, He would not give any input until then, he just smiled and said that was the one he liked best as well. Plus the fact that they could acquire one with everything I wanted and color combo in 2-3 days was also a plus for it. He talked to credit union Fri, went and told Tim. and we went in Sat. and finalized it. They picked it up on Monday and I got it on Tues., 3/29. It has every bell & whistle you can imagine. Slowly learning how to use them all. I love, love, love it!

I was also excited that I got it in time to drive 3 of my red hat friends to an event at Graves Mtn. on the 31st. Finally got these pics taken of it after I got home from that. They loved the ride and were amazed and the roominess of the back seat and comfort.

 My 2016 Buick LaCrosse

I love the luxuriousness of the center console (Command Central)

I love the brown accents. Call this the Capt.'s Control Center.

The seats aren't as white as they look here, a little more tan looking.
See the screen that comes up in back window. This will come in handy when I have Abbi with me facing the rear. Will keep some of the sun off of her. Also note that the cover for the sunroof is thin and lets a little light thru it as well.

Horrible pic of me, but isn't that panaramic sunroof fabulous.
Bonnye loves it and as soon as she gets in she wants the cover opened and if weather is nice we open it completely. Only the front portion opens, as shown here.

3/18/16 Sr. Ctr. Card Day - Easter Cards

Today we made Easter cards. They thought I wasn't coming  and Denise had brought some of her stickers and such for them to make some cards and they were working on those when I arrived and just finishing up. Perfect timing. So then they stamped more cards. Afterwards, I made my usual drive along the beach and had a great view of the ospreys in their nest. I think this is the same couple I photographed last year. Beautiful day!

3/13/16 Bonnye meets Frozen Characters

PawPaw and I took Bonnye to Massaponax H.S. to meet some of the Frozen characters and watch the movie. She had a great time, although she wasn't thrilled about meeting Olaf, which surprised me.

We're Nana & PawPaw again during the first snowstorm of the season!

Finally our sweet little Abigail Elizabeth has arrived. Born on the first day of the big storm of this winter on Friday, 01/22/2016 at 5:34pm. 7 lbs. 9 ozs., 19.5" at Ft. Belvoir Community Hospital. Due to the storm coming in, we were unable to go up with them and then of course they were snowed in, so we didn't get to see her in person until Monday. We took care of Bonnye and had a lot of fun with her in the snow.
